Promotion and advertising for chiropractic practices is learned by observing other chiropractors. I have been seeking out doctors that are successful for decades, observing them, listening to them, learning from them, and I can let you know this - physicians that are successful do plenty of promotion.
Referrals - If the saying isn"t recorded as it goes, it did not happen. Sure you may have sent your patient for massage therapy, but where is it in the SOAP note? You better be able to track a referral somewhere, if you are attempting to get that massage visit paid. Insurance company denying the importance of your care? Where is your documentation regarding your patient"s visit to the Orthopedic Surgeon whose recommendation was to continue with chiropractic care? You should be documenting all referrals to and from your clinic. An auditor who finds none and looks through your notes doesn"t conclude that you don"t ever refer. He believes that he"s found a chiropractor who looks to see what other errors he can find and fails to document extensively.
Many people have even resorted to operation. If you are considering that course then please do your homework. Surgery should be your last resort in most cases.

So if you"d like to learn more - teach more. If you have prospective customers chasing you rather than the other way around and want to be respected as an authority in your field - teach more. And in case you"d like to make greater profits - then teach more.
