This week, we decided to chat with Mia Neuse, L.Ac., a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist who operates in the Montavillla neighborhood near the base of Mt. Tabor. Neuse is a graduate of a long time member of the East Portland Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine.



As you create a service or a product, consider what services or other products may be offered to complement and augment it. What else do customers or your clients need? What other services can you give your clients or customers to create additional streams of income for your business? For example, a chiropractic office may offer therapeutic massages, yoga classes or nutritional supplements. Merchandises and these services aren"t Chiropractic services but your clients are related to health and something.

Abbreviations - If you"re audited, don"t count on a chiropractor reviewing your records who"ll know what "PR L" or "ASRA" or even "Sublux" means. For that matter, even a non-chiropractor may have difficulty with non specific abbreviations like "PT." Did you send the patient for part time or Physical Therapy work? The auditor isn"t going to try and interpret your abbreviations, especially if a key isn"t present that clarifies them. A great SOAP note with one unidentifiable abbreviation can cause you to fail your audit. Therefore, be sure you"re spelling it out definitely (another edge to EMR, push the button and the word comes out!) or that you provide a key that certainly interprets all your abbreviations.

First, a potential Twitter user in your local area that will come across your own profile will see that you"re giving "canned" answers to everyone. Do you think they"re going to want to be your buddy in the event you"re not showing a private side? What would you think if someone was marketing chiropractic this manner? The purpose of the latest social media is to, well, be social. I do not believe having a profile like that sets the stage for quality social interaction.

1) Get it correct between your ears. By this I mean you must comprehend that great service, excellent skills, along with a friendly conduct could be enough to get by, but should you want to excel then you have to market. This notion is crucial! Why would not you want everybody to learn about the help you can supply? In case you are self conscious subsequently understand that a big reason to market is more than just seeking profit, it"s since you have an obligation to talk about your unique God-given talents. Thus become an advertising maniac, and have fun doing it because that"s what people will see.

Second, you should consider your budget. Remember that it is unwise that your budget will not be considered by you when picking out a professional. There"s a time and place for chiropractic advertising via social networking. It only must be way more subtle that what I"ve been discussing here. Look, we all need new patients knocking our doors down, but it is important to remember that you must create value to construct trust. Bearing this in your mind when thinking of marketing chiropractic will save you from looking like a spammer.
